The devil is always in the detail -- some apologies are not apologies at all. What if he says something like although he stands by his criminal and brutish behaviour, but sorry nonetheless? Would the GFA accept such apology? What GFA should say is that they will SINCERELY CONSIDER an apology when/if it comes.
Anyway, a letter alone probably crafted by someone else is not good enough. To show sincerity, he must first call a press conference and speak from the heart and show contrition, then follow up with a written apology for formality.
By the way, accepting an apology is not the same thing as being invited back into the Black Stars, at least not automatically. First, he has to earn an invitation, and secondly, the smaller and broader impact and implications of inviting him back to the team should be considered. It’s very inappropriate for the GFA to convey that they standing by with a blank check for this ingrate who disgraced his nation on such global magnitude.
