By playing in some lungulungu areas against VERY WEAK & INEXPERIENCED players, his skills and performance would certainly deteriorate precipitously and would be of no good use when he later confronts high performing players in the World Cup or African Cup of nations. So, money would be good, but performance would suffer.

Also, too much chasing money has its cost and setbacks as well and I hope nothing bad happens to him, else everybody would recline into what the Germans call "schadenfreude” (i.e., being happy over somebody's problems or misfortune). Here, it would be "see, you've been too greedy so you deserve what the heck you're getting." GOOD LUCK, though!!

The fact that Gyan did not wait for his form to dip before going to UAE has done him a lot of good. His achievement in Al Ain is phenomenal - goal king for 3 years. It does not matter whether ya player is paid like Messi in Spain or UAE or in China.- the value is the same.
The fact that Gyan has chosen not to go to play in Europe is rather a display of humility or not pursuing empty pride. It is not a display of love for money as some people think. The huge reward he is getting is his justification; it cannot be his condemnation.
