during the testimonial match coach adday was interviewed and he said when stephen appiah was brought to him; he didn't say when he called stephen appiah. at that ET mensah received a lot of flag that he used his position to smuggle the player in. you could see that at the under 17 world cup he was hardly used and when after heavy calls by hearts supporters for him to used, when he was used the coach was vindicated as to why he preferred amoako & isaaka. Again at the time he assumed the captainship, it should have been kuffour but CK caused a whole mess. i can go on & on & on. what you get sometimes is largely influenced by the actions & inactions of others. For instance when stephen came against uruguay, if john mensah had done the right thing by giving him the captain's band i dont think djan would have been corageous to take the ball away from stephen when we had the penalty during extra time. there is no guarantee that stephen would have scored but at least he is known to be an expert more than djan.

You should be a preacher just like Apostle Paul to talk like that. I was told the same story by a young Nigerian friend of mine after, we had met a convict who was in jail. He rather thanked his Dad for enforcing strict discipline and a move from that area poor neighborhoods to another city.

Football and sports in general takes people from crime, and the Govt and other NGOs, and other philanthropists should invest in sports promotion and we would not be handling vices in the society as we are doing. Appiah and others like him should be encouraged to undertake speaking tours of impoverished communities to serve as role models for the kids who are recruiting targets for hardened criminals like robbers.
