Did not watch the match as I was at JFK. But monitored the line up on Fox just before leaving home and he was not named among the starting line up that's why I wanted to know if he indeed played. Just happy that he was given the opportunity to come on later in the game. I think he will be more effective if he plays behind the attacker or attackers. You mentioned the commentator's view. What about yourself? Hope you are not relying on the commentator to make judgement about the lad.

Play him as a left winger or striker. Schlupp is only good as a defender against weak and inexperienced teams. Otherwise, use him as a striker or leftwinger. He is full of strength and energy and vim so put that to good use

I think the reason he has been used as a defender is because he lacks the kind of ball skills you need up front. He has good energy and makes good passes. Maybe he could be a striker.

He is very young and must be encouraged to develop as a striker. Besides, he was born in Hamburg Germany and Claudio Ranieri is an Italian who even coached Chelsea. Check your facts!!!
