Mr No Nonsense!! Waow, you haven't changed a bit, bro. Always say it as it is? We will save money, you say? Are we all forgetting that the continental competitions these players devote their time and energy playing do bring the country some funds? Those funds, do we give all to these players? I don't think so.
To me, this story is not true though most of us know their bonuses have not been paid and my question is, where are the funds generated from all the competitions including the WC? We also know that when these funds are provided by FIFA, they go to the GFA then to the Sports Ministry. Between these two organizations, can someone tell me the last stop of these funds?
Let us be patience with this article because it may not be true. Moreover, which one of us could tell me the nation didn't give him a platform during his upcoming in life. The grounds and the lands most children played ball on, who provided that? The educational institutions we attended, who provided those? If all these were provided by the country for both us the these players, whose fault was it that some of us didn't excel in the game but others did. Those who advanced in education, are they working for free? Don't they demand their salaries?
Think about that, folks

Also, do you know of any nation that doles out $100,000 + a car valued at $35,000 per a player? If the promises are based on the monies coming from FIFA and are paid to GFA, then the players demands are absolutely justified. It's now becoming too embarrassing. This is the same way they treat soldiers who survive peacekeeping.
The government still believes in the stupid African thinking that a minister should make more money than a soccer player because the former, in most cases, has a higher formal education. They don’t agree that the money you make depends on how much money your work brings in.

If GFA agreed to pay players certain amount, why do GFA fail to honor their side of the agreement. The players fulfilled their part by playing the tournament.
Has anyone heard of unpaid salaries of GFA Officials? The Government always pay themselves, yet fail to pay others, Nurses, Doctors, Footballers etc. And has anyone wondered how much money they steal into their selfish pockets? Yet, Yet some individual Ghanaians write foolish comments in support of incompetent management and Leadership.

there is always going to be a great wide gap between we Africans and the so called developed white world. why? because most of our people are naïve and really don't know how a government is suppose to work. we have a few group of people living in luxury and the majority in abject poverty. eg the so called fools at the sports ministry will go for a tourney with the black stars and come home to award themselves hefty cash just for accompanying the team, and the masses think it is okay, even if they think otherwise, what can they do? they go out there for a white coach with a bloated figure because those idiots make a cut out of it. the bottom line is if you are wise enough to employ a white dude for practical things like sports, road construction and other infrastructural devps, how then can you believe that you are capable of running the intellectual aspects of building a nation? you spending huge amounts of cash on stupid guys who call themselves lawmakers while the people live in filth, kids school under trees, dumsor all over, employment extinct and the masses just sit and look? if you guys don't rise up against all these vices, then the shit is gonna go on for a long time

Something really baffles me. Why are the bonuses for the qualification matches not paid till date? CAF has a specific amount that is paid to all qualification matches, and is paid to the GFA, who in turn must pay to government consolidation fund a requested amount, according to right and form. Specifically, 2 weeks after every match, the money is paid to the GFA. The Sports Ministry normally gives the GFA money for the matches according to budget, which must be paid back when they receive their money from the CAF. It's been ages since those matches were played, so why on earth are the Black Stars not paid to date? Corruption is the answer.

You guys esp. those who've been capped many times, should know that it was not until ex-Prez Kuffour's time paying bonuses to our Black Stars became real. The NDC stole the ballot and came to power. Since 2008 everything is in shambles; tell Ghanaians how you feel. They did it to the Black Queens. The ladies had to plead before John Mahama's gov't agreed to pay them their winning bonuses. It will be a sad thing if you decide not to play. But I think you have the right to make your own decisions. Tell Ghanaians how you feel. I think it's all okay!

The players can go to hell. We have had enough of this nonsense. I think we should use the money to pay the striking nurses and improve the service conditions for doctors and teachers. The GFA intentionally put in this bonus scheme because they also benefit. Let us set our priorities right by telling the footballers that they can refuse to play and Ghana will not burn. The footballers should know that first, it is a great honour to be called upon to play for their country and secondly an opportunity for them showcase the kind of stuff they are made of in order to attract the football scouts. There are still schools under trees and some hospitals without nurses and doctors. Let us learn to use our money wisely.
