The only way to improve is to have a habit of regional play between CHAN teams in friendlies so they can get used to international competition. This just about seals it for the local players. They will not be selected for the real Black Stars. You would be better off taking a chance with MLS players.

They're out of CHAN 2016 because they were not prepared in Kumasi, and they lost today's game because they went to Abidjan to defend a weak 1-goal lead instead of trying to win.

However, if you are a local player from Ghana and you know that you could get exposure from the CHAN to improve your career, I would expect that someone on the pitch would attempt to fight to score. It was not like they were playing the real Ivory Coast? The players are not hungry. I suspect they did not really fight for the win.

Where do those players lie in the scheme of things. The poor economy is too blame. Players go all over the continent and the world to make money , so the local league is not strong. TP Mazembe, SA clubs, North African teams are well resourced hence they do well in the CAF club cmpetitions. Soccer is now money so until our economy is running with local big companies/ entrepreneurs who can make our teams do well . Cash prize for Ashgold winning the league is a disgrace.

These players don't play for the main Black Stars so why are they not in the CHAN squad.if I am a good player from any country playing outside my home country , I can't qualify. The format is wrong. We need to widen the pool of players getting opportunity to play for their national teams.
