To start with, building an astro turf is just 2 weeks of work, not 3 months but if we're also talking about the inclusion of seating, bath rooms and athletic tracks, then it just can't be an astro turf alone but a mini stadiu ...

And if it's mini stadium, what the hell will $18,000.00 do? It's way too small for such a project. It may be time to take a closer look at the artificial turf your kids play on.

An NBC News investigation into the fake grass raises the possibility that it leads to cancer, especially those of the blood.

Seattle soccer coach Amy Griffin has made a list of 38 U.S. soccer players who have been diagnosed with cancer, 34 of them goalies who have constant contact with artificial turf. Though no research has said the material causes the disease, Griffin believes the black crumbs made of synthetic fibers and old tire bits that get kicked up by regular play can get into players' bodies and be carcinogenic. Turf fields can get hotter than outside temperatures, too, causing concern that byproducts can seep into the air.

Good gesture as always by the captain. However, wouldn't natural grass have been better & even cheaper. Injuries are too common on the turf than on natural grass . Any way, thank you Captain.

Drains for the turf will clog in just one week after a heavy rain to render the field useless in a short while. A natural grass field will be the best in this situation. Also, when there's any wear and tear, are there plans m ...

I applaud Gyan for his good intentions, but astroturf is bad for players' health - there are studies to support this.

Big thanks to Gyan. The biggest challenge will be maintenance. In a country with a very poor maintenance culture it will be great if serious attention is attached to maintaining the turf.

Saint Ghfuo hit the ball in the park. Why don't you invest in green grass companies to supply grass to football stadiums?

Other Black Stars must help to build football academies throughout the country.
