Unfortunately, the attractions that made Ghana sign Avram Grant was his short stunt replacement coach at Chelsea where he inherited virtually an already top formed squad. Grant has never been any spectacular coach anywhere except his attachment to the EPL club named Chelsea. His average performances in Ghana are not unexpected because the reasons GFA settled for Grant wasn't for his quality per-se but for his once attachment to the celebrity club name "Chelsea". The Technical Director of Chelsea is a Nigerian Michael Emenalo and apart from being offered Technical Director's appointment through an internal arrangement; where else could he have assumed such a juicy position with a top world class club.? That is the category Avram Grant falls in before he was appointed the coach of Black Stars. His appointment was based on Chelsea's popularity sentiments rather than choice of quality.
