Had it be "local language radio stations", I wouldn't have any problem with it. Radios broadcast are in all kinds of local languages in Ghana but only Twi was singled out. In any way, I don't buy his excuse; the local league is being destroyed by courrption and the incompetence of GFA and Mahamah's administration but nothing else. Too much corruption in the association and the nation as a whole. All they care about is "YEN KYE NI" and BORROW, CREATE, LOOT and SHARE. Why are they not investing in youth soccer development but instead every money that comes in their way findS it's way into the pockets of the corrupt incompetent criminal looters running the organization? Only about four private soccer academies are feeding the Blackstars lately, The Right To Dream and others. Where are the FIFA developmental money? Thieves, incompetents, criminals and looters at the helm of GFA, so what do you expect? Matches are always fixed but you expect stadiums to be filled? Garbage players on the field but you expect poor over burdened Ghanaians to pay to see them? Point your attention on the incompetent Mahamah too, who has destroy the economy. Going to see a soccer match is not a necessity but a luxury. If they can't buy food, pay medical bills, electricity bills and school fees, how then, do you expect them to spend their limited resources to go and watch a garbage match which the outcome is already determined by corrupt referees? You're barking at the wrong tree. Blame your incompetent GFA and Mahamah for the woes of the local league and stop your nonsenses, hypocrisy and tribal undertone. Think before you speak. You can't an effective spokesperson, if everything that comes from your stinky mouth is rotten and begs to be criticised.

There is an element of truth in what is being said. Asempa Radio does cover a lot of sports but some of it's presenters behave unprofessionally, by their personal attacks which bothers on arrogance. In fact this guy who presents their evening sports programme seem to dwell more on sexual innuendos and asking stupid and silly questions. The programme appears to be being used to promote some companies including akpeteshie based ones rather than sports. Most of the programme is thus devoted to the cause of these so-called sponsors followed by archive recordings of some silly pranks. I bet many smart people I think will switch off immediately and will do something better. It is about time Asempa journalists and presenters act professionally if they really call themselves journalists.

I'm still laughing...what did he say?...slip of tongue or what?...this show how hollow Nyantakyi and his GFA are?...they lack ideas and don't how to redeem the image and competitiveness...what happens in the Ghana league is that all radio stations and broadcasters who have the facilities to broadcast are allowed in the stadium to run commentaries..in fact, most use cell phones to run the commentaries..in twi...and this is wrong!...What FIFA and CAF and other sports organizations, like in America, do, is to sell the rights to broadcast to one media company...that way anybody who wants to listen to the commentary or watch the game MUST do so through that media...that way, they can attract more advertisers...during world cup, Olympic games or super bowl(in America), we all tune in to one station, which might re-sell the rights to other stations to also broadcast the came...so what the GFA must do is to STOP the numerous stations from broadcasting the games live... with cell phones and sell the rights to broadcast the league to one media company...I cants stop laughing!

Ghana is one of the Africa countries that adopt foreign football club names in a 21st century whereby branding is the engine of successful businesses globally, GFA/Ministry for youth and sports sitting unconcerned and allowing football clubs in Ghana soil naming their football clubs as CHELSEA, ARSENAL,WESTHAM etc. where the hell is called chelsea or Arsenal in our map of Ghana. These teams should be given just 90 days to change such a stupid slavery names or will face bans for life period, this is disgrace to every Ghanaian that love football.
Plus Ghana gov't should find a way to completely stop every football matches in our air waves when our local teams are playing, like how Chinese been doing when they think their national interest at risk, this what is called leaders that are protecting their country. Until measures like this is implemented let's forget our football forever,it won't be long all our national teams will die bcos our local league is our raw material for our national teams. Most times when listening to not only soccer commentary, but political debates and news, in twi, one can help but notice a lot of negatives impressions, about the language, unconsciously portrayed as a language of criticism and firebrand, This image is being created by the SPEAKERS, who I believe only know how to speak the language, but have no other moral, and ethical rules and the needed knowledge to GUIDE THEM ON WHAT TO SAY, HOW TO SAY IT , AND WHEN NOT TO SAY IT, AND THE EFFECT OF WHAT THEY SAY ON THE LISTENER. The GFA must set rules for the radio stations in particular to abide by before they can give commentary, no station in UK has automatic right to cover the English league, it generates a lot of business and money, therefore, the owners cannot allow anyone at in it. This is what is lost here in Ghana on the local twi speaking stations, they run their sponorship adverts during soccer matches and KILL THE GOOSE THAT LAY THE GOLDEN EGG. DON`T GET OFFENDED, RATHER BEWARE OF YOURSELVES AND HELP PORTRAY THE LINGO IN A GOOD LIGHT

How does the league get better when you football shows financial indiscipline, corruption, apathy, laxity, and gross non-nonchalant attitude toward the league, the very job you are paid for.

A case in point make me sick to the bone. When the president of the GFA had the chance to alleviate the hardships of the clubs he decided otherwise.

By his own admission, guilt and folly, not thinking about the financial hardships that had afflicted the 16 clubs, and perhaps the other national teams, KN lost his senses to corruption, got so greedy in an attempt to please members of the clique, he had woefully taken a lion share and personally distributed the rest to individual members of the 'Mafians' ( call them the crooks)a whopping sum of 500K captioned "Loot and Share" without any corresponding receipts.

This was the money that came surplus as a result of the Tax-payer's magnanimity by making sure we par take in the WC hostilities with marked success?

Sanni, are you thinking right?
As an avowed British trained journalist, why couldn't you brave the storm,the needed audacity to confront your boss as to why the money was used this way knowing very well it was the league that needed it the most when it counted. Could you say whether or not you guys are the bane of the league?

I guess you didn't know the league was that bad until now. In that case the GFA in a spending spree of the country scanty resources couldn't have been that bad after all. If that so, why are you shifting a blame on the very entity you praying could promote the league.

The money that could have been used to lift off the burden have been irresponsibly spent in style. So lavishly 'chopped' by the handlers there is no power above to ask them to vomit or spit out the harm. And now, the league is in tatters unable to stand by itself.

GPL has lost its sponsors because the sponsors are not getting a "bang for the bucks". The problem is that whenever a striker rose from the the numerous uninspiring lots the teams are too quick to trade such a player to teams outside the country leaving the GPL hollowed out.

At the moment none of the teams in the league has a star player worthy of his cleat. So, what does this pepenii idiot expects anyone to sponsor such a losing league.
