The EPL is the most popular league in the world but it is not the best. La Liga has been consistently far better than EPL for the past five years. More teams from La Liga do better than the teams in EPL in the two European Cups.

EPL may come second. Bundesliga has one team that is better than all the teams in EPL but Bundesliga has not got breath. EPL has greater breath than Bundesliga. Serie A has fallen behind in the past years. Ligue 1 comes after all these others.

As for the CAF Player of the Year Award. I have nothing to say against your argument. I agree André doesn't deserve it. André is good, very hardworking and plays with his heart for Ghana, but... he's not as good as his father. No two ways about that.

Asamoah never deserved the award at ANY time. He is a good goal scorer but he is really not all that good. And he has spent all his career in mediocre teams.

But I agree that the Award is a bit biased towards players from French speaking countries. It may be because they have more votes. It's difficult for players from English speaking countries to win.

Secondly, the award is biased towards attackers. It's difficult for goalkeepers and defenders to win. But that is so even for FIFA Awards.

Or, the people who voted for the most performing footballer of year see it different. The organizers ought to be careful not to take away the enthusiasm among their fans and football loving African public. If there is any bases to rate African footballers then create it. It will be unthinkable to suggest that Dede and Atsu did not merit your considerations for the African Footballer Award. Shame on you, I must add.

This is why Andre Ayew was voted in third place behind Yaya Toure and the winner from Gabon. Aubermerang playing for Dortmund has a scoring average of more than one goal per game. As well as international performances for Gabon. Personally, I think he deserves this Award and am happy to see another African footballer other than Yaya Toure win an Award.

That statement was made to buttress those who argue that Afcon should be the deciding factor. If that is the case, then Atsu should be declared the winner since he was voted the player of the last tournament, that was my premise.
