These gentlemen and a few others whose names have escaped me are the ones who put Ghana's name on the planet. They are the players who literally laid their lives down for Ghana. They played not for monetary gains but for the love of their beloved Ghana. In fact during their days nations shivered in their pants just over the taught of playing against Ghana. These were the players that kept us glued to our radio boxes every weekend. They made us take pride in our local teams as well as the national team.
In the future please seek counsel from the elders so you will not find yourself spewing out lies like what you've written again.

Look, we've had players and we've had players oooooo.... I am a Hearts man, and in the days, we looked at the then 'Fearsome Five' as the BEST attack in the world.("Mickey Rooney" Robert Hammond, "Bomber" Mama Acquah, "Goal Thief" Peter Lamptey, "Thunder" Anas Seidu, and the "Dribbling Magician" Polo.)
Unfortunately, playing professional soccer in Europe wasn't the norm then. Football was a past-time in Ghana then - all amateurs. Besides,there was only one slot for Africa for the World Cup, so they couldn't showcase on the world stage. But man for man, these were heads above those players in Europe.
Kotoko had fantastic players ('Bayie' Opoku Afriyie who could score goals with his eyes closed); Bofoakwa had the Owusu Bros - Kwasi and Dan, etc, etc,..

In this modern era, we see minnows being called to play for the Black Stars, so many of you latter days saints think Ghana hasn't had goodies before.

Our nation Ghana has produced a lot of players with full potentialz, although some of the worthy and formidable names have been stated in the few comments I just read yet lot is left out, how about Robert Folly, Saani Abudulai, the Paha brothers, Sam Bothcway, Essel Mensah, Anthony Micah, Justice Moore, my son Sam Amarteifio, Seth Ampedu, John Baker, Goalkeeper Adanse, Goalkeeper Akolatse, John Nketia Yawson, John Essien ziontraine, John korblah, Victor Armah, Adolf Armah, Awuley Kwei, Sowah Mack Payne, Abudu Nelson, Joseph Carr, James Kuuku Dadzie, John bannerman, Sam Suppey, Paul annang, the Nyarku brothers, and many more, those times you will never regret because of the competitiveness of game.

Lifting an African cup is no fluke. So the author should revise his notes.

How I miss the Amusa Gbadamoshie confronting the Brazil team Santos led by the World Pele at the Accra Sports Stadium. The match ended 2-2. If there is any player Abedi Pele saw and imitated, it is Mohammed Polo. We have seen football before ooooo. So the current crop of players should not bluff anybody with their bonuses as if they know how to play aaaaa ma. Nonsense
