It is not just in Ghana, that is how it is in every country where football games are highly competitive. Here in England the lower divisions like the championship and the league one are much more difficult than the premier division (the premier league). To start with, you have 24 teams in each of these divisions which means teams in these divisions play 8 more games than their premier league counterparts. They also start playing each other and the coast teams in other competitions like the capital one cup and the FA cup before joining their premier league counterparts.
