That's why it's important Grant concentrate his efforts on moulding new strikers; natural goal scorers who can make something out of nothing as Gyan does. Compared to other top teams on the continent such as Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroon, Algeria and Nigeria for instance Ghana lack natural goal scorers. Something must be done to stop our apparent dependants on one player for much needed goals if we are to continue to be counted as among the best in the world never mind Africa.

Grants gets them once in a long while, even that they meet sometimes for only 3 days. If their club coaches can't sharpen them I doubt Grant can perform any magic either.

Yes, Jordan looks like a good prospect but I believe there are others as well who are yet to looked at by the coach. I have in mind Al Ahly's John Antiwi and Athlelti Bilbao 's Inaki Williams. I under there are also some very good potential strikers in the domestic league such as Kotoko 's Dauda Mohammed who can fit the bill. In any case the Afcon is 6 months away. So I don't think it's too late to bring on board new strikers with the potential to help in our quest to conquer Africa.

Goodman, we all wish the Ayews could be turned into strikers; however looking at the way they position themselves during games in their various clubs, it would be hard to present them as strikers. These young men are both attackers though Jordan is being use as a striker, he doesn't have the instincts to stike. Look at how Gyan positioned himself before and after his chested the ball. That was a well calculated striking instinct there. With time, Jordan may become a good striker, but this is a commodity we don't have. Jordan has speed that could complement his position as a striker but he delays when he has a ball and needs to pass, shift, and take it back. His vision toward poles is also inaccurate. This is a quality you can't teach but can adapt and be good at with time. We need strikers and we need them soon but not later.

Talking is cheap but let us be real we have all played soccer before and the hardest part is getting a real prolific goal scorer by nature such as Messi,Ronaldo,Asamoah Gyan,Opoku Afriyie,Dan Owusu,Abukari such strikers are not made by coaches they are just naturally gifted and you happen to get them once in decades.You can get wingers,midfielders,attakers every now and then but real strikers is rare,if you espect Wakaso,Waris,Jordan etc to be like Asamoah Gyan overnight you will be disappointed because that is not their nature yes they can contribute to scoring but they are not PROLIFIC STRIKERS.Just look at track trcords of prolific strikers as Gyan,Dan Owusu,Opoku Afriyie,Messi,Ronaldo,Drogba etc they never play more than 2 to 3 matches without a goal or 2 that is the profile of a striker.Gyan has 48 or 49 goals in 90 matches for the stars so do the maths and will see that numbers don't lie,the only sad part is that sportsmen don't last so sooner or later Messi,Gyan,Ronaldo etc will all be gone so should start looking outside the stars for a future replacement because Gyan will not be there forever.Drogba is still playing but only as an inspirer to the young ones and that is what they become as they age,once they 30 upwards they start to become injury prone,even Gyan has been able to play for long because he never cheated with his age but those who cheat with age never last or lasted because on paper they will be 25 but for real they will be 35.Look at Jordan is that somebody you will call a striker?
