Now comes unheralded friendlies to throw away accumulated points. In reality we should be number 1 in Africa but for greed we cheaply honour such games and damage the brand.

Friendlies are for a purpose.
If we fear drops in ranking, we'll never play them.

The better goal should be to play and win than to just avoid the possibility of damaging the brand.

I stopped respecting the FIFA ranking long time ago. It doesn't add up or make sense.There are many European countries up the ladder who simply don't belong there.

If we are ranked high and don't do enough to qualify for the world cup, then we can just as well be the 50th ranked team in Africa and it won't mean anything.

Tell me. We are now afraid of USA? Because of ranking? Why don't we just put a credible team out there to beat them? Then we can talk about ranking as much as we want since that's all we want to talk about.
