The minister's job is to make sure the government and taxpayers' money is used efficiently....
If the overseas players can pay for their tickets they can come...I do not support wasting government money on mere formality..

There are lots of homeless people in Ghana and school children learning under trees...the savings from using local players can build a school building...why should the govt waste money..the local players gain experieince and can actually beat Rwanda...that is how talent is discovered, through opportunity.

For those who watched the Olympics track and field relays, USA used different teams for the heat relays and for the finals..the up and coming ones were given opportunity to shine in the heats and the top dogs took over in the finals, that is the way to go...

I believe this forum is given us to express our views in a civic way and not for some ofus to rain insults.First if we do not have money to fund this match I believe the minister should have convey this message to the gfa so that it could be convey to the coach to make the necessary adjustment. You don't wait till we have few days before you go on radio and make your intentions made known to the media without informing the gfa .This is not only poor communication problem but it is totally out of order. Secondly as minister of sports you are not the coach, the coach does the selection and not the minister. He has given his reason for his selection , if you do not agree with him there is a way to go by it not to sabotage the coaches work because of what ever is going on between him and the gfa. He us. the head of sports out to sit down with gfa and trash whatever issues needed to be delve with and contributions he wants to cut across.Thirdly the sports needs to improve his communications skills. As much as most people are not fans of the gfa dies not give him the right to behave like a dictator.

The Minister has a right to apportion a budget to the Football people according to his discretion. For too long, football has taken all this money and exactly what successess have they delivered?? Vast sums of money are sunk into this hole with lots of people taking a cut and people just flying around. THe football association has to find a way of funding itself or atleast bringing something to the table other than playing on Ghanaian people's emotions about how great Ghana football is. And bear in mind it's only half the population at best that cares about the football. Ghanaian women don't give a damn about it do they??? The Minister is not telling them who they can and cannot have intheir team. But if it's that important that the foreign based players attend then let the GFA fund that portion. THe coach has a budget and has to work within that budget just like everybody else in life! ALl the sports ministry money is spent on football and that is not right. Furthermore if the Team has already qualified for AFCON then this game is a formality though I get that it's an opportunity for the coach to see the team in action before the tournament starts. But quite honestly I think the GFA is trying to set up an excuse so if the team doesn't do well they can blame the MInister. NO THAT WiLL NOT DO. IF THE TEAM DO NOT DO WELL IT'S BECAUSE OF THE GFA. DON'T BUY THE BS!!
