  YEs all these sports Federations are under the illusion that they are 'UNTOUCHABLE' but they are not. Absolutely not. The Government can write to each and every one of the International fedearations and outline their concerns regarding the way the federations are currently run and that it has come to their attention that the national federations are not acting appropriately. Whilst recognising that there is a rule of non government interference, the government can specify to the international Federations that for the sake of transparency, good governance and accountability not just for sports but for all areas of governmance in the country, this matter needs to be resolved and they look forward to co operation from the international federations! In other words, turn the rules on its head and put the ball back in the court of the International federations that if they don't co operate then they are condoning bad practice, bad management and corruption. END OF! they can't sit on the fence any longer. If you keep sinking millions of dollars in sports budgets and after 30 years you have not a single trophy or medal to show for it then something is wrong at roots of the matter and that needs to be addressed and any good government and responsible transparent government would have an absolute RIGHT to tackle such a pervasive problem. One by one the other African countries would follow through to following the example set by Ghana. GHANA is the BLACK STAR, THE PROGRESSIVE NATION OF AFRICA. TO THIS DAY IT HAS A HIGHER TRANSPARENCY INDICATOR THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY ON THE CONTINENT. AND THAT IS WHY IT MUST STRIVE TO DO THIS. IT WILL GET A LOT OF GOOD PUBLICITY AND ATTENTION AND SHOW THE MORAL FIBRE OF THE COUNTRY JUST AS IT ALWAYS HAS DONE HISTORICALLY. RAISE THE BAR. DON'T LOWER STANDARDS. TIME TO RAISE THE BAR

  I believed there had being internal discussion people in charge of the GFA thinks and believes that they are untouchable. They have been successful in removal Sports Ministers since almost Ghanaian care about football. The atmosphere in Ghana is that the GFA had became unbecomeable so they have lost the Ghanaian people. 99.9% of Ghanaians are with the Minister people have stop paying attention to Black Stars.

  You believe there was discussions. When was that? Or you are just second -guessing? You also talk about "accountability and transparency". That's why in all democratic societies there are Congressional and Parliamentary Committees responsible for scrutinising the activities of public bodies and individuals and to ensure they account for their actions. It's not appropriate for the Minster to use the media alone for this purpose. Perhaps you are yet to fathom: This Minister is playing politics with Ghana Football. He appears to see the GFA as part of the Opposition and so his relationship with the GFA should be one of an adversely role. You also claim almost 100% of Ghanaians support him. I am neutral when it comes to Ghana politics. But it will be interesting to see if they vote in December to ensure he continue with his public tirades which seem to have no end in sight.

This current GFA had used "The Black Stars to blackmail us for far too long. The media war had not been one side both are doing it. The only reason the GFA is losing is that they have lost the Ghanaian in the past the Ghanaian will be at the ministry, the Ghanaian will be at the airport to welcome the players non of this is happened.
  
  Since 2006 Kwesi Nyantakyi had refused to account for anything regarding the Black Star. Once upon the time he said he is not accountable to anybody. KN had used FIFA ban stop any questions or request about accountability and transparency"which forced President Mills to take a trip.
  
  KN can put all these nonsense to bed if he will make the GFA account public.

Most congressional committees are for politicians to make the public believe they are doing something in case you haven't noticed. Let me jolt your memory that Mahama set up a commission to investigate some issues about the Black Stars. Not that many of us remember that because nothing came out it, just a complete waste of time, emotions and money. So please, stop this booklong postures about democratic society nonsense. Nothing works in Ghana anymore. The GFA should be reformed period. We just shouldn't care how that happens, even if it happens at the expense of Black Stars performance. How important is one football team compared to other necessities that are in disarray in Ghana anyway? I really don't trust this minister but anything to bring this GFA down is good.

  I tend to agree Asempa. You have to deal with reality and the reality is that the GFA has boasted it is untouchable as do all the Federation Presidents. BUT THEY ARE NOT. If the Ministry has the backbone to take it on properly and to the root. You can't fool around and go half way and leave it and make peace because it just takes root again. The bottom line is the GOVERNMENT< successeive Governments in Ghana have made millions of dollars available for the development of sport and over the last 40 years, all the Federataions have taken the money and showed no results. That has to to stop. Ghanaian youth deserve better. With the available funding but better managment of resources a wohole lot can be achieved and that is great for Ghana's image, pr, unity, national pride and on and on. That's what sports does. It brings people together and sporting success is a very powerful tool in prmoting a country and its agendas. So instead of treating it as not important, the government can just take the bull by the horns and sort it out. It's not rocket science. it's just all part of the same thing striving for excellence good governmance, accountability, progress etc.

  This GFA is grossly incompetent. In addition to this negligence to spy on Egypt and several other shows of incompetence, the GFA was complicit in the Brazil shame or at least they failed to administer well to prevent it. Yet they remain in office feeling untouchable and protected by FIFA rules of 'governmental non-interference'. FIFA does not own or govern Ghana, it’s the government. Besides, it’s the government that funds football administration in Ghana, not FIFA – and he who pays the piper should call the tune. To fix Ghana football, Ghana needs to withdraw from FIFA its events, then dissolve the GFA and the Black Stars. The government can then reconstitute football administration in the country, making the GFA clearly subordinate and answerable to sports ministry. After that Ghana could rejoin FIFA. If FIFA wouldn't readmit, so be it -- we could do without participating in international soccer for a long time as recent poor attendance to Stars matches demonstrate. This is a drastic approach, but it appears to be the practical course of action to redevelop football in Ghana.
