This is amazing. You mean to say the 'officials' got the tickets paid for but the athletes didn't??? what kind of logic is that?! For heaven's sake Minister. SORT OUT ALL THESE FEDERATIONS. THEY ARE ALL TAKING THE PISS JUST LIKE THE GHANA FOOTBALL. We know you care about football but apply the same tenacity and urgency to all the federations. PLEASE! Ghana sports is suffering. the athletes are suffering. Nobody can succeed in this climate of intimidation, coercion and fear.

Ghanaian athletes seem to complain a lot about money. The paralympic athletes made to it Brasil alright.Does it matter who paid for their tickets. Athletes everywhere, particularly those from developed countries, foot their own training expenses without a cent from their governments. The Ghanaian athlete, like society at large, is always looking for the government to fund them. No wonder the country is in a dire economic strait. The solution is to have the respective sporting federations raise private funds to maintain their sports, without having to rely on the government for funding.

What you say is very true. The Federations keep asking for money and then they waste it because they don't actually want anyone to do well. If an athlete does well that means he/she becomes a hero and has a platform therefore they are a threat to the President of the federations and the 'officials' and yes sir who just want to keep going with the deciet that they are doing something so they can keep getting a few thousand doallars for free every year. This is what happens. A federation is set up, the get funding from the international federation who wants to encourage diversity by being inclusive in africa so a budget is made available to the african zone and to the new federation in Ghana let's say, then GOC also gets money from the ICO so each sporting federation president goes to the GOC and the Zone federation or International federation and gets funding, they then come to the ministry of sport and ask for moeny too. everytime there is a congress or a world championship or a qualifier, they can argue for money. they don't just ask for small sums like one athlete and coach, oh no they put in for a huge delegation of 10, 15 or 20 people! Seriously. The people they take are often complete novices because they can control them. In other words if you are not a serious athlete and you are just some bloke down the street you will take a free trip and agree to a $10 per diem leaving the other $40 dollars for the President to poocket. Then there is the so called 'coach', he is usually not a coach at all but someone who the president of the federation owes a favour to or wants a favour from. And sometimes, yes this is true, wait for it, someone who just wants to travel and wants a visa, will pay the federation so that their son can get to go abroad, they even change birtdates to try to make the individual qualify for a particular event if he is over age. so you sometimes see a grown ass man going for a youthy event when clearly he looks like he's 10 years older. The vfact that it is a sporting event means that the euorpean countries will give visas as it all looks official and hey presto a sort of official people smuggling racket is borne. So that is why all the federation presidents stick together and why not one of the athletes dares speak up. But you got the picture now so you can't pretend you don't know!

Korea for instance pays their gold bronze, and silver medalists are given life insurance! Again, USA Olympic team raised 75,000 usa dollars to bring their athletes to the games!
Federations raise funds by themselves , that is true, however, governments also invest! So please Ghana is corrupt by not using all natural resources that God has given to the benefit of the citizens!
Good night!
