Appiah was there before the Israeli but foolishly, disgracefully and unceremoniously, dismissed him--thinking of going in for a super star coach and now look at the state of affairs of the Black Stars?? This fool wouldn't sit his Jewish butt in Ghana for a few weeks to deal with administrators and local players, but always on some silly junket abroad.

GFA can fire this coach but, heck, NEVER think of bringing back Kwesi Appiah. GFA humiliated him after the 2014 World Cup and he better stay where the hell he is now. The old adage still rings: The Devil you know is far better than the Angel you don’t know.

The fact is that local coaches are better, all our cups were won by local coaches.

If Appiah comes they will call for his dismissal too. At the moment Grant is using Appiah's strikers and we are unhappy. That is why I have suggested Abdul Razak who won stuff as a player including African footballer of the year and has done well as a coach and would be affordable plus command respect in the dressing room.

Personally i won't advice Appiah to accept the job. Ghanaians murdered the guy and burried him alive just because of some arrogant bastard like Muntari and Boateng. Boateng plainly said he wouldn't have played for Ghana if Germany had not ditched him. Ghana had qualified 3 times to the world cup in the history of soccer and guess what Appiah is one of the coaches that took Ghana there. He was also an assistant coach that took Ghana there so he has been there twice.
Ghanaians are quick to destroy one of their own and hail a whiteman even if the later is failing. Grant is been paid twice as much as what Kwasi Appiah was paid but he still took Ghana there. People like you knows nothing about success baboon

I wish i had AA contact i know him when he use to play for wenchi when he was a student. He should demand whatever is needed b4 he goes in.

The Good book in quoting Christ said a prophet has no honor in his his home that has happened to Akwasi and it will trail him if he comes back in a tribalistic area like Ghana But that Boateng boy i dont see any football he plays

Kwesi Appiah was not and is not ripe to take over the Black Stars, he needs upgrade of his coaching knowledge not thru attachment , but real upgrade course in the classroom in addition to practical lessons! The problem with the Black Stars is that other similar players in other countries have overtaken them, our players are no more "hungry" for skills and development! They have stagnated in their development and are satisfied with the level they have reached, just like most of our local coaches who also don't bother to improve their knowledge thru seminars or advanced modern coaching courses! Recently former players like Stephen Appiah, Arhinful, Sam Johnson had been lambasting Grant, apart from talking and displaying their wealth and properties etc, what else have they contributed to the administration of football in the country?? You only hear them when it is too late to act or when its party time celebrating a victory , when they are paraded as "vip guests"! GFA is having problems with Grant because of the terms of his contract, in their desperation of getting an "Awuff" and "Ologomi" contract , they gave him so many concessions and did not stuff in loopholes in the contract! Grant is taking full advantage of his contract! GFA would not dare bring back Appiah , because this would clearly show how incompetent and confused they have been and are still are!!! The fault is Grant, it is the complete GFA , they have become clueless themselves - A BUNCH OF CLUB-OWNERS STRUGGLING TO KEEP THEIR CLUBS RUNNING AND WHO HAVE ARROGANTED THEMSELVES AS BEING THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO RUN FOOTBALL AFFAIRS IN THE COUNTRY GHANA!

How about talking to the players to see what qualities they would like in a future coach, and add that to their criterion when seeking a new coach.

I've always said not all the problems are Avram Grant's fault. Look at the nonsense he's had to deal with after Afcon 2015. Oh he's not bringing in local players, money issues, fighting with the GFA and GSM etc. This is a poor environment to coach let alone expecting the players to thrive.

If things don't change at the top, nothing will work below. Fix your management GFA and Sports Ministry, FIX IT!

U G replacement should probably be an Ghanaian . This is not a xenophobic dislike of great coaches from around the world. It’s more a practical thought that an Ghanaian coach will better understand and be able to inspire the dig deep, believe we can win against any odds, patriotic win for Old Glory mentality that has carried the U.S. to results in the past. Men that have worn the flag on their jersey may be better conditioned to get that out of their team when needed.

One of UG’s many mistake was saying that the Ghana . could not win the World Cup in Brazil. The players are not stupid, well most of them of them are not. They know they are the underdog in any World Cup. They know they are not Brazil, Germany, Argentina or even France. They may intellectually know that but in their heart they needed to believe they could go all the way. I am sure the players of that team believe they could but they did not need their GFA undercutting that belief.

Long term a non-American coach can instill an identity on a team (another one of AA ’s failings) and not need that history as much but a quick turn it around job will need every motivating trick they can pull out of their bag of coaching magic.

Success.

The new boss needs to have some measurable success to be able to come in and have the credibility to make the changes needed and go forward. That may be having played at the World Cup level or having coached and won titles and preferably both.
