  This is not the solution. The referee did not incur any cost to travel for the match. FIFA paid his plane fare. The host country paid his hotel and meals and inland transport. And also his allowance. Such bans do not achieve ...

  This is not the solution. The referee did not incur any cost to travel for the match. FIFA paid his plane fare. The host country paid his hotel and meals and inland transport. And also his allowance. Such bans do not achieve anything. It still leaves the cheated team cheated and losers, whilst the other team gains. The referee may also gain, that is in the event that the referee has been given an inducement. He walks away with a ban but a lot of inducement cash. After the ban, he will still officiate matches.
  
  There must be a rule which states that if a serious call is made which directly causes a team to lose unfairly, then that decision will be overruled. In this case the results should be 1-1 because Senegal has spent money to go and play the game.
  
  This is how to be fair not just a ban.

  I watched the match and I felt very ashamed as Ghanaian. He was very poor and one could see his delight in awarding the penalty. He shouldn't be allowed to officiate again.

  This is not the first time a Ghanaian referee has acted so unprofessionally.At the 1982 World Cup in Spain, a Ghanaian referee took center stage in a match between Kuwait and France and similarly awarded a very dubious penalty against Kuwait. It led to their elimination and l noticed that Ghanaian referees have not been invited by FIFA ever since and this blunder will further alienate them.

  Please Kuwait vrs France 1982 the refree was not a Ghanaian and again there was no a penalty in the game Please go back and check the match it was 4;1 and some goals they said was offside which it wasn't

  Thanks,but since you are the one disputing what l wrote,the onus lies on you to provide the name and country of the referee of that match.l was in Europe at that time and l watched all the matches live.
