The last time I heard from Agyeman Badu he claimed he want to be an MP for his area, now NPP wins and he suddenly jumps in to say he want to lift Africa cup because Nana said they should win the cup for him. The players are divided along political lines. This is the reason why I admire players like Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah. During their time they had misunderstandings but not political.

There is no way the current Black Stars team can win the AFCON 2017. The team was stronger when they lost to the Ivory Coast. So Agyeman Badu should stop wishful thinking and face realities of AFCON footbal life.

Every club or national team has one or more game changers or match winners when the going gets tough but the Black Stars seem not to have a single match winner or game changer.
As an ardent soccer fan and analyst, I have observed the following shortcomings with the Black Stars and even most of our local footballers:
1. The team lacks a clinical finisher cast in the mold of Diego Costa, Hazard, Ronaldo, Harry Kane, and such other strikers who easily beat goal keepers even at narrow angles.
2. The Black Stars do not have a single free-kick expert who can bend or dip the ball over the opponents' defensive wall into the net.
3. The team lacks good crosers of the ball into the opponents 18 yard box. Even if they work the ball close to the goal, they kick it over and above their mates waiting to score, sending the ball over the touch line at the far end.They do not even pull the ball back from the goal line into the penalty box for others to score.
4. The team lacks good headers who can direct free kicks and corner kicks into the opponents' net.
5. The team lacks good shooters who can shoot straight on target. Players like Badu, Wakaso, Afriyie Acquah, and other midfielders, and even strikers shoot wayward. Our local players are the worst culprits if it comes to accurate shooting to score.
6. Our players also cannot give good defence-splitting passes which can make goal scoring easier for whoever is in position to score. Most at times they give incomplete passes.
7. The type of training they have prior to matches also affect the style of play. They keep practicing like they are playing small goals. When they are shown practicing, you see a lot of players scrambled over a very small space. During the practice you don't see them practicing free kicks, direct shooting, scoring from corner kicks and even penalty kicks. No wonder,the team can be awarded a lot of free kicks and corners kicks during matches, but they hardly score from these half chances.
These are the ingredients that win games in modern football, not just dominating play by passing the ball around for 90 or 120 minutes.
It will be technically and tactically difficult for the Black Stars to win any major tournament these days.
