Heave Renard is a skilled coach and great motivator but we need something he will not be able to provide.The condition of our national team requires that the next coach dedicate a substantial amount of time and effort to recruit and rebuild from our local league.This will require the coach to stay in Ghana and watch as many league matches as possibly.Herve has been as lucky as he has been great.So far he has been lucky enough to coach teams who were on the ascension or already at the peak of their form.We need a Ghanaian coach who understands our league and our needs.The only foreign coach so far who has displayed such traits has been Kenichi.I will rather we hired a Ghanaian coach we can afford for a long term contract and charge them to rebuild our aging team.

I hear this recruiting from the local league idea and I laugh. It tells me how uninformed people are about building a team, the best I mean. Have people forgotten or don't understand why school coaches go around playgrounds looking to bring footballers and athletes to attend their schools? The answer is simple. It's because there is something call talent and a winning team needs plenty of it and the best. A local player is a temporary tag. The fact is that if a local player is very talented he will surely end up outside Ghana. So what is the emphasis on recruiting from our local league that we know doesn't have our best players? The local league is a means to identify new talented players and develop them. We have the U17, U20, U21 and local Black Stars for such players to prove their inclusion into the Black Stars. How well these lower teams and the players perform shouldn't be the responsibility of the Black Stars coach. The main job of the Black Stars coach is to find the best talent where ever they are, local or international, and prepare them to perform well enough to win. We can have a Ghanaian coach but we have to live with the growing pains that comes with it. Akwasi Appiah was learning on the job and doing just Ok but we let him go because our GFA is nuts and we Ghanaians also can't stand failures by our Black Stars. Our GFA is the other problem that no coach can flourish under.

AA not a good material for the Black Stars. We saw it in Brazil. Not respected by players because he was not a good tactician. He allowed himself to be schooled by interest groups over selection of players.
