The thing is that the Egyptians got an undeserved goal and then played to their strength which is long balls, niggly fouls, spoiling tactics to break up our neat, technical play. The Stars play a highly technical game with careful buildup play from the back. This needs a good smooth pitch to make our approach work. The terrible pitch meant we could not do that and this greatly helped the Egyptians. With Partey, Wakaso in the middle of the pitch, on a good pitch, we can beat Congo. We are a really good team but with Djan providing us with the needed cutting edge. I think he will be ready for Sunday, surely.

Egyptian keeper cannot be beaten by a straight shoot, And that's what i mean by 18th century soccer.
Instead of passing the ball at the penalty box, they shoot straight at goal. How many keepers can be beaten by such goals, only our 18th century keepers.
Each team beside the coach has strikers coach and defensive coach who teach their players on how to defend and score. We seem to just have a defensive coach but not a so good technical bench for strikers.
Look at the stile of Congolese team at the box. They create spaces for passes to score a beautiful goal. If we cannot play like the Congolese team, we are doomed.
Regardless of Asmoah Gyan fitness the team can go far if only they attacking midfielders learn not to be selfish but play well in the opponent box and learn to score creative goals.
I wish the players had read my piece on how to score goals, unfortunately non of them can read and write.
Better next time our uneducated GFA will pick educated players with skills and calculus in mind to represent Ghana.
