He was not known for scoring goals, but for his ability to create scoring chances, and he created hundreds of them.
I'm trying to defend the truth because it is unfair for his sacrifices to be overlooked. They put Africa on the world map of soccer.

Gyan has payed his dues, the numbers speak for themselves, goals and what not. However it will be a huge mistake to be fixated on Gyan, rather there is the need to mentor/groom the younger strikers on the bench, or else they will fade away. How can you keep a 'golden boot' winner like Assifuah on the bench. We always find a way to fail, by not taking RISK with that which embodies potential. Unless maybe Assifuah is Grant's trump card.

I nearly hit the panic button when I saw the news flash that aDjan was not going to start against Congo. Jordan however provided me with incontrovertible evidence that he is capable of taking the mantle in Djan's absence. That was such a relief. At least there is a viable back up plan. Having said that, Djan and Jordan will be a just deadly.
