Defending set pieces does not come from brilliant players, it comes from the tactic devised by the coach and rehearsed over and over to ensure that everyone knows their job. It is not left to chance. If the players have not done this again and again on the training ground, it will not be replicated during a game. This was demonstrated in the Egypt game, we could not defend a free kick, the same happened in the Cameroun game. There is no magic in football anymore. Talent alone do not win you a trophy, talent has to be complemented with good preparation. Cameroun were well prepared for us, don't think we were prepared for them and it showed. Hear what their coach said? They prepared to cut out our vertical passing from the back and the midfield. That surely affected our build up play in the first half and in the latter part of the second half. We need a hands on coach who will prepare this talented team well for tournaments.

I'll suggest that GFA invite some of the old Stars to help the technical team.
If you analyse all the games that the Stars lost,you can see that 3 out of 4 goals they conceded came from freekicks.This should tell you that the Stars have a serious problem in defending freekicks.
On the contrary,if you count the number of freekicks that the Stars threw all away you become crazy.
These are some of the problems we must address immediately.I was expecting Sammy Kuffour to be a bit technical but unfortunately he sounds like a frustrated supporter.Don't worry be happy.

How to fix the Stars. Solution. Believe in yourself and your resources. Hire Ghanaian coaches and monitor their selection of players devoid of bribery. Secondly, provide resources for the players. Make them comfortable. Thirdly, select players with at least secondary school education or if possible university graduates. We need players that can express themselves on the field and off the field. This is vital. Current Ghanaian players are intellectually bankrupt. Fourthly, Pay them what is due. Don't rob them of their stipend when they win matches. Fiftly, build world class facilities for them to train and expose them by taking them to international friendly matches. Sixthly , select from within and rely on local players who are motivated and hungry to do the job. Know that these borga players have already made their money and are not motivated to fight hard to get hurt. Hire psychologist who can tune up the boys to be battle ready. Our current players are not battle ready. They lack tactical discipline and motivation. Let us begin to believe in ourselves and stop relying on foreign coaches. With the right motivation, pay and facilities, Ghanaian coaches can equally perform.

Not upholding the basic rule of law and order is the order of the day in Ghana, today!

This has consequences in every area of our society, from the classroom to the workplace, the streets to the criminal courts, rehabilitation centres, parliament and judiciary to the soccer fields.

For example, players beating up authority, players insulting the citizens of Ghana for criticizing them, a ban on 'okada' has rather led to an increase of it, nurses maltreating patients, bribery and corruption on the rise across board, drug and alcohol abuse on the rise, breaking traffic rules, littering the society with garbage, defecating in public places and many more anti-social behaviour are all a national ailment.

We Ghanaians are 'dying' of all the above mentioned and the Black Stars have totally displayed the kind of society we have, to us.

So Sammy, it is not only Ghana football that is dying our entire nation is. But when it comes to football, the fruits of indiscipline we face today, was sown from your playing days, with all the shenanigans that went on with you, Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele and co.

So please, you lot are to be blamed, as well as the lack of implementation of our laws by our authorities and the fear of losing votes by our so-called leaders.
