Those people who really know have something to benefit one way or the other. There is one thing about the job of football boss: it is very lucrative and interesting. That is why most football bosses do not want to lose their positions. Look at how long Joao Havelange stayed on as FIFA boss - 24 years. Even then he had wanted to stay on longer. Sepp Blatter was forced off at the age of 80 after 17 years in charge. He was not going otherwise. Issah Hayatou has been CAF boss since 1988 - 28 years now. He shows no sign of wanting to step down. He is "only" 70 years old so you can expect him to add another 5 years at least. He has spent all his years in football administration after having been appointed the Cameroon FA boss at the age of 28!!! He himself never played any football - he was a little known athlete of little merit.
The post is very prestigious and very very lucrative. All football administrators get bribes - even the European ones. The bribes come in different forms not only direct cash payments. Those who occupy the post won't let go easily. Nyantakyi won't let a very lucrative job go easily.
People are calling for Nyantakyi's head not because Black Stars failed to win AFCON 2017. They have been calling for his head long since. The reasons, I think, are both personal, administrative and political. He has a post that many people want.
The only way he can go is if he resigns voluntarily or is voted out in regular elections. This last one will not happen. He has enough clout to make sure that he gets the votes to stay on. It is not like a Presidential elections where the opposition can promise all Ghanaians fantastic things and they can vote for him.
But it is only a vote that will get him out. There is no need asking him to resign or have him sacked. Those who want him out should wait for the elections and try their efforts there. Or they should pray that Nyantakyi becomes the Africa boss and his Ghana post becomes vacant...
Meanwhile, the great majority of Ghanaians, including my humble self, don't really care if Nyantakyi stays or goes...

In 2015 AFCON final where Ghana lost on penalties to our neighbors Ivory Coast,were well expecting Nyantakyi to drop from the stance to play the penalty shoot-out or what?
We often cry that our local league is not attractive.The GFA makes efforts to secure sponsorship.What effort has the Ministry of Sports or the goverment of the day done to develop the local teams? The FA with their widows might assist teams that qualify to represent the country in the CAF champions league.What help does the government of the day offer to such clubs to aid their africa campaign? aint they representing Ghana in Africa?
A small token could be set aside by the Ministry to assist such clubs and it could go a long way to see them succeed in annexing the CAF champs league or the Confederation cup.
Those who are against Nyantakyi are doing so to achieve their parochial interest.

The writer is confusing the responsibilities of the GFA president and corruption. No one said he was not capable as an administrator only that he was a very corrupt administrator with 'coefficient' powers. He has been the GFA president for more than ten years. He started well and qualified us to three World Cup tournaments once the African teams were INCREASED TO FIVE. This is a statistic we seem to have forgotten. Previous FA administrators were not that lucky. Now he cannot qualify us to the next World Cup and since 2008 when we failed to host and win the AFCON, we have failed to win the cup despite a presence at every semi-final. The local league is a failure, junior national teams are failing and our African presence is all but gone. Please have the nation at heart when appointing the next coach and not just the one who can pay and also take bribes to field undeserving players.
