Some of the greatest coaches are/were footballers who were great and had a wide international exposure. They also captained their great teams. In fact, they didn't have any prior coaching experience. Therefore, what do you mean? We have Stephen Appiah, Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele, the pair of Alhaji Tanko and Otto Addo, Desailly, etc. Again, what do you mean? Kwasi Appiah is okay if he has improved his motivational, confidence and assertive skills.

Masa shut up, what does ghanaian coaches know, they dont want to learn and always sticking to their local tactics. I wouldnt call for a local coach period.

These foreign coaches have propounded a trick for Ghana, that is: Let us go and "CHOP" small and go back. LET us have a Ghanaian Coach.

Skains l coundnt agree with you more.Let,s go to Senegal and learn how their own did it.If we are always going to rely on these azaa and lazy white coaches then we are in deep trouble.Let anybody say he was happy with how azaa Avram took our money and treated as if he didi not care.The selection committee knows the right thing but they will not do it.They will finally hire somebody caste in the mould of Avram , Berti vogts or some useless English coach. Mark my words.

If Akwasi Appiah had been allowed to stay with our boys till now there might have been much experience, with regards to the coaching job, on his part. Again, the cordial relationship between him and our young men might have grown tremendously. Let us give people time to develop in their field of endeavors. Let us also appreciate the little effort that a person does than to rush in our decision making.
I also mentioned Maxwell Konadu's name in the sense that he was with Akwasi Appiah as his assistant. When we fired Appiah, it was Konadu who stood in before Coach Avran was appointed. Now Avran is gone and this same Konadu is standing in for Six-man delegation to go out in search of a new coach for the Black Stars. What are we telling Maxwell Konadu? He has become what we say in Akan language, "Tia,tia, me mu kope nsupa bi nom!" We always tell Maxwell that he is NOT competent to man the job. Let us look at what Konadu did when he was the coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, How he also handled the Black Stars before Avran came. When a person has not been given a full responsibility, he does things or acts as a half responsible person.
Let us consider the countries around the world in the area of sports. We can plainly see that Germans appoint a German to handle their national team. Likewise Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, and so on and so forth. Lastly, let us THINK of the financial aspects of all that is going on. The pay, accommodation, and the food expenses involved when a foreigner is appointed as compared to a local coach. I therefore whole-heartedly support Richard Kingston's idea of a local coach to take up mantle of the Black Stars Coaching job.
I don't want to comment on the trip expenses of the six-man committee traveling outside in search of a coach for our national team. THINK OF IT! ! !
