we loved it. India was not featuring in international football for a very long time, so we believed they had been banned for that 'magic' play. Shamo was not born when this 'TOLI' was told!

They said his shots were so powerful for goalkeepers to handle. And that, one day him and his dad were practicing penalty kicks. Acquah's dad was in the post, his son kicked the ball so powerfully. Though his dad caught it, the shot was so powerful that he reached out to a handkerchief in his pocket, waived it at his son and died. This and so many other strange stories. I really believed them but each time I cast my mind back then, I laugh like crazy.

I remember the keeper was Robert Mensah who saved 1 kick to keep the score at 99 rather than 100 and also died as a result . The ball was hard as an aluminum pot and the BS could not kick it hard enough.
