If you want the best coach in the world, you pay good money. If you want Akwasi Appiah, you pay peanut for shit results and protecting bad guys.

There is the need in all sectors of government and the economy to strengthen our human resource base and accelerate our capacity building exercise. Towards this end, Akufo-Addo must personally ensure that Ghanaians are sent outside for training, and also foreign experts brought in to help in this exercise. This we started after becoming a independent & a republic but performance in some sectors is worst today globally.

Which team in Europe would pay him that much? But why not? Old lazy Avram did virtually nothing and took $50,000, so why can't he ask for $70,000 from the free money?

The GFA had no other choice than call back Kwesi Appiah. They have lost hope of qualifying for the WC in Russia and at the moment there is no big or important tournament apart from the "little afcon" with local players and this has always been coached by our local coaches! In effect , Appiah's appointment was long decided and bears no risks! Qualifying for "big AFCON" is no big deal and doable, if he qualifies the Black Stars and fails to win the AFON, nobody will cut his head and his contract would end around that time! It means Appiah has almost 2 years to establish himself and really win trophies for us, if not then also no problem, by all means there would be culprits somewhere to blame! For now we are happy and waitng patiently and hoping he would start weeding out the non-performers and unfit and some old bones out! One very important advice, this time around he should open his mouth and talk and stop that "silent killer" nonsense! He is there to coach and be courageous enough to discipline and manage the players! He should not allow the players to manage and discipline him! That crying and fearing the players is not part of his contract! He has to tell the players what to do and not the players him! In a team , there is no one above it, the team is the boss and whoever whether Asamoah-Gyan or John Boye or Ayew or Dauda or ehe ehe doesn't want to work for the team, should be asked to leave immediately! For now , welcome back and GOOD LUCK AND SUPPORT!!!

What I can say is that looking at the big picture we have to understand that we have a solid program but there is no coach in the entire world that can guarantee Cups will be won. Therefore, the strategy should be sticking with locally connected coaches who are in Ghana most of the time and can keep things well organized. For instance, I do not see why preparation cannot t be in Ghana and why teams cannot be invited to play friendlies in Ghana. A locally based coach could focus on organizing such things. The talent is there. I just believe a bit more organizational sharpness and we can see Cups coming without spending exorbitant money on coaches.
