Ex Black Stars captain Kwesi Owusu is peeved at being excluded from the list of Ghana’s 55 finest footballers to grace the land.

The selection was compiled by Primeval Media and F&B Media Group to mark the Ghana 60 Years on celebrations and is aimed at honoring the best 22 players to have greatly contributed to Ghana football since independence.

The Committee put together some55 players which will be whittled down to 22 and be rewarded at a ceremony later in May, but surprisingly left out the former Bofoakwa Tano marksman.

Owusu, nicknamed the ‘Powerhouse’ of Ghana football captained the Black Stars in the 1970’s and 80’s and represented the nation at two Africa Cup of Nations, and two Olympics.

The towering giant was Ghana’s all-time top goalscorer with 40, a record he held for nearly 35 years before being broken by Asamoah Gyan in 2013.

In an interview with Atinka TV’s Sport Court show, Owusu said the decision to exclude him from the list was unfair, and charged the committee to rectify what he describes as a huge anomaly.
