Ghana defender Andy Yiadom is likely to leave Barnsley after Huddersfield made an official bid of £750,000 for the player despite the Yorkshire side being reluctant to let him go.
The right back who was voted player of the season at Barnsley has been on the radar Premier League sides Newcastle United and Swansea City.
Swansea according to reports made a bid of £500,000 for the player which was rejected by the club.
However, Barnsley wants an amount of £2,000,000 and are also keen on keeping the defender.
“Andy has one-year left on his contract and we are aiming to offer him a new deal,” Barnsley’s Chief Executive Officer, Gauthier Ganaye said.
“We are discussing and hopefully we will find an agreement with him.
“He did a full season last year and we want him to play a big part next season.
"They are just starting their pre-season and managers have not decided yet if they are going to loan them.
"We have to wait another week or ten days and we will know more then."
Andy Yiadom was also named in the Championship team of the year.
