Ghanaian international Enoch Adu Kofi has joined Swedish giants AIK from Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor. The 27-year-old Adu who made his debut for the Black stars of Ghana a year ago has signed a contract that will run till the 2020 season.

At the unveiling ceremony today by the Swedish club to confirm the transfer, sports director for the club Björn Wesström said “In the quest to develop the team, we have searched for a ball winning player to strengthen the central midfield in the team. Adu has those qualities and he has the experience to play in Europe. Adding the experience with the qualities that Adu possesses improves the squad and the opportunity to take AIK to the next level”

On the part of Enoch Adu Kofi, he expressed hiss delight at joining the Swedish giants and promised to give of his best to ensure AIK get the next level.

“I’m happy to be here and look forward to getting started with the preparations for the season. It’s will take a huge effortfrom both myself, my new teammates and the coaches for AIK to move up to the next level and thus go from being a top team to to become champions of the league. I am convinced that with hard work we will be able to give the supporters what they deserve and that is why I have signed for AIK.

The Kumasi born player started his professional football with Corners babies then to Liberty Professionals FC in Accra before moving to Europe after featuring for the national Under 17 team in 2007. He joined French side OGC Nice, before signing for Danish side FC Nordsjælland in summer 2010 and contributed from his midfield position to the club’s first league victory 2011/2012 two points ahead of FC Copenhagen, qualifying them for the Uefa Champions League 2012 /, 2013. FC Nordsjælland was eliminated from the group play in autumn 2012 and shortly afterwards Club Brugge KV of Belgium signed him.

his most memorable spell came during his time with Malmo FF when he won several titles as a key member of the team in addition to playeing regularly in the UEFA Champions league.

Enoch Kofi Adu will join his team mates at AIK when pre-season training starts in January 2018 and we warmly welcome him to the General Sports Club.
