Ghanaian centre-back Bernard Kyere Mensah was given an early shower in SC Fortuna Koln 2-1 loss against Erfurt in the German Bundesliga 3 on Saturday.
The former Kaiserslautern guardsman received his marching orders in the 8th minute after a dangerous tackle on Elias Huth.
The 23-year-old's expulsion did little to hurt Koln as they held their own up until the end of the first half.
However, 63rd and 67th minute strikes from substitute defender Tungay Uzan and Nermin Crnkic condemned Uwe Koschinat's outfit to defeat despite a 90th minute goal by Palestinian forward Amir Falahen.
Mensah has netted one goal in 23 appearances in all competitions for Koln.
