Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Kevin-Prince Boateng says he’s sad that his brother, Jerome Boateng, has been ruled out of his side’s DFB Pokal final against Bayern Munich.
The Boateng brothers were set to face each other in the cup final scheduled for Saturday, May 19, 2018.
However, Jerome has been ruled out of the clash following his injury in Bayern Munich’s 2-1 home loss to Real Madrid in the first-leg of the Champions League semi-final.
Kevin-Prince admits he’s sad that his brother will not be able to feature in the game, but insists it gives Eintracht Frankfurt an advantage over the German champions.
"I’m very sad about it [Jerome's absence], but we [Frankfurt] also have better chances for that reason," Kevin-Prince told Spiegel.
"Jerome is one of the best centre-backs in the world, and without him, Bayern are a little bit weaker."
Both brothers have faced each other many times and entered the history books when they faced off in different national colours at the 2014 World Cup with Ghana and Germany respectively.
