Ghana striker John Antwi will not be allowed to join Zamalek from fellow Egyptian side Al Ahly.
Zamalek are keen on bringing in the former Dreams FC player but Ahly are bent on keeping him.
Zamalek are prepared to pay US$ 600,000 for Antwi who has enjoyed a successful season in Egypt with El Maqassa after scoring 16 times last season for the club, just two behind Al Ahly's Walid Azarou.
The 26-year-old has spent most of his career in the North African country, playing for several clubs including Ismailly.
