Ghana captain Andre Ayew staged a stupendous cameo on Tuesday evening to power Swansea City to a 3-1 win over Northampton in the Carabao Cup
Matt Warburton gave the League Two side a shock lead just after the hour mark in the first round encounter at the Liberty Stadium.
But Ayew climbed off the bench to make his first appearance for the club since May 2018 and scored twice – with George Byers also netting – as Swansea booked their place in the second round.
“Happy for my first two ????goals of the season last night and even happier for the results. Massive thank you for the reception from Jack Army ??????????“
The Ghanaian international spent last season out on loan at Turkish side Fenerbahce where he scored five goals.
