Turkish super lig outfit, Trabzonspor are interested in signing Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey as they look to replace Nigerian Ogenyi Onazi in the January transfer window, according to Turkish newspaper Star.
The ambitious club are in need of a central midfielder with Onazi yet to play a game for nearly a year because of an Achilles injury he picked up at the beginning of last season.
Star claims Karadeniz Firtinasi are looking at possible alternatives to Onazi and Leicester City’s Ghanaian midfielder Amartey is said to be an option.
Amartey has yet to feature for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season as the former Liverpool manager has understandably been preferring Wilfried Ndidi as his defensive midfielder.
Trabzonspor are likely to make a loan offer to Leicester City for the player as they are particularly impressed with his ability to operate in a number of positions.
