Talented Ghanaian teenage star Abdulai Mukarama scored her 23rd goal of the season for Tyler Junior College as they defeated Holmes CC 7:1 to win the 2019 NJCAA Gulf South District Championship.
Mukarama and Tyler Junior College will now head to Florida to compete in the 2019 NJCAA DI Women’s Soccer Championship this month.
The tournament will run from 18-23 November at the Orlando Health Stadium.
Mukarama first shot to prominence after scoring 12 goals in 4 games to help Black Maidens qualify for the 2018 FIFA U- 17 Women’s World Cup.
The 16-year-old, then went on to captain Ghana to the quarter-finals of the global showpiece in Uruguay, scoring a record seven goals.
She won the Golden Shoe (top scorer) award and Adidas Bronze Ball (third best player) behind Spain’s Claudia Pina and Nicole Perez of Mexico.
