The transfer news linking Ghanaian international Afriyie Acquah with a move to Besiktas has heightened with his departure from Yeni Malatyaspor looking imminent.
The Black Stars asset secured a transfer to the Malatya-based club in the last summer transfer window as a free agent after he had parted ways with Italian Serie A club Empoli.
Before the season was suspended, the defensive midfielder had proven his worth and was regarded as one of the best players in his position not only at his club but in the Turkish Super Lig as well.
As reported by this portal earlier, he is now wanted by Besiktas as they look to strengthen their squad for the next season.
In the latest development, our sources say that the club has received positive news from Yeni concerning the transfer of Afriyie Acquah and is now planning an official bid in the coming weeks.
If things go well, the deal could be sealed even before the summer transfer window opens.
Acquah, 28, has made 21 appearances for Yeni this season and has provided 3 assists.
