Ghana great Anthony Yeboah has lift the lid on why he left Eintracht Frankfurt to join English side Leeds United about twenty-five years ago.

Yeboah as prolific as he was netted 89 goals and provided 29 assists during his time with the Eagles in Germany.

In 1995, Yeboah moved from Germany where he had become a cult hero with Frankfurt as he was scoring for fun in the Bundesliga to England to play for Leeds United.

The ex-Okwahu United goal poacher has revealed that there was a misunderstanding with then manager Jupp Heynkes which urged him to move to Yorkshire to play for Leeds as he wanted a place of peace.

“I didn’t know Leeds but when the offer came I said why not? Then I had a problem with the coach at Frankfurt so I decided I want to play football, I want my peace.“ he told GTV Sports+

"Initially the trust from Leeds was not there so they loaned me for the first six months and had the option for another two years."

Later on, Yeboah found the peace he wanted along with fans adulation as he was destroying opponents with his outstanding goals scoring prowess.

For Leeds United, he scored 29 goals in 56 games.
