Former Ghana defender, John Paintsil has praised Andre Ayew for his leadership qualities as a player.
Paintsil revealed in an interview that he identified those leadership qualities in Andre Ayew when he first joined the Black Stars in 2008.
According to the ex-Fulham defender, Ayew deserves to lead the Black Stars and he wasn't surprised when the Swansea City star was named as captain.
“Andre Ayew is born a leader and no matter how people see him whether good or bad he was born to lead so I wasn’t surprised he was named as the captain of the senior male national team the Black Stars", he told Kasapa FM.
Andre Ayew was named as Black Stars captain by former coach James Kwasi Appiah prior to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
He has made 86 appearances for the Black Stars and scored 15 goals.
