Former Deputy Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Baah Forson has said that the 2017 budget statement and fiscal policy has nothing new to offer.
According to him, the budget will only be a reiteration of ‘unachievable’ campaign promises and pledges made by President Akufo-Addo and his Vice Mahamadu Bawumia during the electioneering period.
“from what I’m hearing, it will be nothing to take home about, I’m expecting a rehash of campaign promises that cannot be achieved”, he said.
Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Attah is presenting government’s maiden budget for the year 2017 before the house in Parliament, outlining plans to deal with the country’s economic sectors through various investment policies and initiatives.
