The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, is expected to present the 2024 mid-year budget review statement in Parliament on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
The budget presentation is in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 21 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).
This will be his first budget reading after assuming office in February 2024.
A statement from the Ministry, dated Monday, July 22, 2024, outlined the key areas to be covered in the review.
These areas include economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year, growth measures, revenue, expenditure performance, financing, and debt sustainability.
“The review will cover economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year, growth measures, revenue, expenditure performance, financing, and debt sustainability," the statement highlighted.
The budget statement will provide an update on the country's economic performance, fiscal policies, and adjustments to the main budget for the remainder of the year.
