200 MW power exported is 200 MW less load shedding. WTF
Currently with power off for hours on a Saturday afternoon in Tema.
Who is chopping the money VRA is making from those power exports?

When they arrived in 2017, they trashed Mahama for providing excess power. Instead of protecting it for future use, they toyed with it and mismanaged. They also left the huge Atuabo Gas Plant built by Mahama into the hands of people like Aboa papo who didn't know the Plant's value. Almighty ECG was also selling the Mahama's Power without proper accountability and the final result is that the Power Producers have no money to produce any power so Dumsor is back.

What kind of morons inhabit Ghana's corridors of power. Exporting power at the expense of your own population.
Indeed these people need to be euthanized.

Let’s not be lied to by these so called IPGG CEO or whatever he calls himself.
We’re all in the energy market and know exactly that VRA has been exporting power even before the first IPP came into operation in Ghana and there was dumsor before, during and now.
VRA have some contractual agreements with other neighboring countries which they ought to fulfill to even make the authority financially stable since ECG hasn’t been reliable in fulfilling it financial responsibilities from day onset.
VRA is basically surviving on these exports, if no export then we’ll be having another heavily bankrupt state institution.
And as it stands now VRA is the only power producer with export license and having that edge over the IPP.
Why is the so called IPGG CEO crying? Some of the IPP’s in Ghana now( especially the IPP(Chinese owned) the so called CEO works for) wants to compete with VRA in the export market and if successful take over the export market for VRA to struggle financially. Meanwhile that IPP is still enjoying or have enjoyed huge tax exemptions which were given to them here by our wicked NPP and NDC politicians.
So the facts of the matter are:
1. VRA is exporting to meet existing contractual obligations and survive financially.
2. A greedy non patriotic Ghanaian want aid a Chinese IPP to kick VRA out of the export market to make VRA financially unstable while that foreign firm continues to enjoy safe and cheap production environment in Ghana and export their output to neighboring countries to make more money since ECG is not meeting it’s payment obligations and also not signing new PPA’s.
I will edge us all to read and research more on this than just sit and watch greedy individuals and their hungry media gangs lie to destroy of country. The country is already being messed by our politicians so let’s not allow other individuals to add on.

Yesterday, they blamed MAHAMA for waisting money on excess power supply. If you couldn't managed power excessive, how can you manage a lower power supply? Every good thing Nana Addo inherited has become a CURSE.

Many people are allowing emotions to cloud their judgment. This is stemming from a lack of appreciation of the electricity market.
The market consists of regulated and deregulated. The regulated market is mostly dominated by ECG as the distributor obtaining power from both VRA and IPP's. VRA is only obligated to about 50% of ECG demand.
VRA has firm contractual obligations with customers in deregulated space including export.
The power supply challenges is primarily due to a spike in demand from the ECG market. Unfortunately VRA is being asked to breach it contractual obligations to make power available to the ECG market.
Additionally, exports have been curtailed to the barest minimum but the power supply challenges continue. Cutting exports won't solve the issue but will create challenges leading to more dumsor.
Let's remember that ECG has failed to pay VRA and continue to renege on its obligations. VRA will struggle to maintain their plants if this curtailment is done leading more dumsor than we are seeing.
The situation is more complex than a simple binary solution
