The Finance Minister has to resort to excessive borrowing and twisting the arms of the BOG governor to print money.

Competition is supposed to benefit the consumer but this doesn't happen in Ghana. There are currently about 15 cement brands in the market. One would expect price competition to bring prices down but unfortunately not the case.

The problem to is not the cement manufacturers, the problem is our architects and engineers. Until they design and adapt different building concepts that reduces the use of cement in our buildings, the prices will always go up. Surprisingly, the main ingredients in cement making, limestone, clinker are all mined here.

Exchange rate alone cannot be the reason why prices are so high in Ghana. Most of our major wholesaler are Mafias and are milking the ordinary consumers

When imported raw materials arrive at the Tema port, the import duties are usually the same as the price of the materials or higher. So, what do you want the items to be sold after adding up production cost? KT Hammond is just a pampered old boy.
