A cheque bounces if the balance in the account is not up to amount supposed to be withdrawn. Are you saying Ibrahim did not know the balance before issuing those checks?

Really??? Do u know its a Crime to issue dud cheques? Before issuing a check make sure you have sufficiënt funds to clear.

If this allegation is true, all GRA and any other government officials involved in this saga must be charged for dereliction of duty, and aiding and abetting.

At the same time, the Citizenry cannot stay IGNORANT of what goes on between these 3 bodies. If we go to sleep, the DEVILS will take over.

GRA was powerless to act on this guy who continually issued dud checks ?
Who was d head of GRA THEN ? That person collected his salary for doing nothing ?

Government rather owes Ibrahim Mahama and I hope my good President will call EOCO to order. The reason is he worked for VRA and they postponed payment of his money. Apparently he issued a post dated cheques to clear his earth moving equipment. Ibrahim then issued instructions that GRA should deduct that money from his outstanding money from GOG or Ministry of finance but it delayed till this government took over. Mind you am told that's the only deal between his company and GOG. EOCO is clearly embarrassing the state by their actions. Government should pay E&P and stop empty PR work. Ghana deserves better!

The Ibrahim Mahama's EOCO Saga. HERE ARE THE FACTS.

I love President Mahama, but I have been exasperated by the negative tag his brother Ibrahim Mahama continues to cause him in the public eye. When I heard the latest EOCO saga, my immediate reaction was anger at this political liability Ibrahim Mahama has become to my political idol President Mahama. But when I heard the real facts of the case, I can't help but indict Government for political harassment of persons close to President Mahama. Especially considering that Kennedy Agyepong correctly predicted EOCO's invitation of Ibrahim Mahama last Tuesday.

Engineers and Planners imports equipment to execute the Tamale - Salaga road project for government. They agree with Ghana Revenue Authority to spread GHC16 million duties and taxes imposed on the equipment over a 12month period from contract certificates paid by Ministry of Finance. Engineers and Planners are to pay the deferred taxes with interest. This is a facility GRA extends to many Ghanaian enterprises.

The arrangement works perfectly and bankers drafts are paid to GRA in exchange for post dated cheques deposited by Engineers and Planners.

Enter the new NPP administration . They suspend payments on government projects until they have presented their budget. As a result of this Engineers and Planners Certificates of almost GHC20 million remain unpaid. Government owes Engineers and Planners GHC20 million. Engineers and Planners owes GRA GHC11 million. Simple matter. Pay E&P and they'll pay GRA. What is EOCO's matter in such a case. And I'm informed Engineers and Planners still have 8 months according to the agreement to complete payment.

By the GRA's payment schedule with Engineers and Planners, the amount outstanding according to the agreement by April ending is GHC2 million.

Hmmmmmm! A clear case of political harassment. Political jingoism.
