Man jailed 10 years for defiling 4-year-old girl at Awutu Adawukwa

A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for defiling a 4-year-old girl at Awutu Adawukwa in the Awutu Senya District.

According to an adomonline.com report, Stephen Kweku Darko was convicted by the Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court on May 13, 2026, after pleading guilty to the charge.

The court, presided over by Her Ladyship Nana Asantewaa Attakorah, indicated that Darko, who lived in the same neighbourhood as the victim, "lured her with toffee" into his room on May 9, 2026.

Police led by ASP Godwin Nornoo of the Awutu Bawjiase District Command said, "the girl was assaulted after entering the suspect’s room. She later told her parents, who lodged a complaint that led to his arrest."
