Four suspected drug dealers have been arrested by the Mankraso District Command after a police intelligence operation in Kunsu Township in the Ashanti Region.

According to a press statement issued by the Police on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Affairs Unit in the Ashanti Region, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, said that the operation forms part of the Police Service's sustained efforts to clamp down on the trafficking and peddling of illicit drugs and other related criminal activities within the district.

Furthermore, the operation led to the retrieval of a firearm, suspected narcotic substances, and cash believed to have been obtained from illegal drug activities from the suspects.

The suspects, identified as Issaka Musah, 22, Amankwah Emmanuel, 25, Kwame Boateng, 32, and Appiah Prince, 23, were picked up by officers from the Mankranso District Police Command during a dawn operation on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Among the items retrieved were a locally manufactured pistol loaded with two BB rounds of ammunition, quantities of suspected tramadol, red capsules, dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp, a whitish powder suspected to be cocaine, and GH¢5,647.40.

Police believe the cash is linked to the suspects' alleged drug trade.

“Items recovered from the suspects include one locally manufactured pistol loaded with two BB rounds of ammunition, quantities of suspected Tramadol, red capsules, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a whitish powdery substance wrapped in paper suspected to be cocaine, and an amount of GH¢5,647.40, believed to be proceeds from the alleged illicit trade,” portions of the statement read.

According to the police, initial investigations indicate that the suspects admitted ownership of the items recovered during the operation.

"During preliminary investigations, the suspects allegedly admitted ownership of the recovered exhibits. They are currently in Police custody assisting with investigations and will be put before the court upon the conclusion of investigations," the statement said.
