Controversial lawyer, Maurice Ampaw has said he would have been appointed into the current government long ago if he desired.
He said his refusal to accept an appointment is borne out of the fact that politicians are not to be trusted though he believes in the ideals and ideologies of the current government he voted for at the 2016 polls.
According to him, he pities politicians each time they exit power because most are unable to maintain their flamboyant lifestyles and live like paupers citing members of the opposition National Democratic Congress as an example.
On what will make him accept a position in government, he said the President must officially apply to him because it is a call to duty which will make his administration look good.
President Akufo-Addo should beg me before I can accept any appointment. Working for the country is a service, so if I am to serve the country, the President should come forward to beg me by writing an application letter asking me to serve in his government,’ he stated.
In which area he would have preferred if he chooses to accept an appointment, he disclosed to Ike De-Unpredictable on Abusua Fm that he will prefer the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to afford him an opportunity to sensitize women on legal matters.
