The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has urged all students to register for the E-Learning programme despite the concerns raised.

The SRC had led students to protest against the programme, which is to serve as the continuation of academic work, from Wednesday, April 22.

Authorities had announced the Moodle Platform for use for the programme in order to successfully complete the 2019/20 academic year.

But students took to social media to reject the move, demanding free data and provision for persons with visual impairment, among others, before subscribing to it.

In a statement issued by the SRC, the authorities have been engaged and the issue of data or free access has been highly considered.

“Once it is finalized, we shall continue to mount pressure on all stakeholders to ensure that all other issues are addressed,” the statement signed by SRC President Zaki Abdul-Hamid said.

Among the issues raised by the students are the disadvantage students without internet accessibility stand, the exclusion of students who had not yet registered for the semester and quizzes and examinations to be conducted on the platform.
