A senior Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana and fellow at Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), Professor Yaw Ransford Gyampo has put up a strong defense for the newly created ambassador-at-large post and hitting hard back at Dr. Hassan Ayariga.

The founder and disqualified presidential aspirant of All Peoples Congress(APC) slammed his successor of the People’s National Convention(PNC) flagbearership Dr. Edward Nasigri Mahama for accepting to be an 'errand boy' for president Nana Akufo-Addo.

But Professor Gyampo contests the position of Hassan Ayariga, saying Ambassador-at-large isn’t an errand boy.

‘Why is there a lot of ignorance in the body politic? Those who think an ambassador at large is a mean position should attend my lecture this morning with my MA Students.’ The revered lecturer threw a challenge on his facebook timeline.

‘The man is the boss of all ambassadors. Actually, ambassadors would shiver when he visits them! He is a diplomat of the highest rank who would represent and advise the President on crucial matters relating to diplomatic issues and on matters pertaining to the work of All ambassadors appointed by the President’. Prof. Gyampo explained

He admonished those who don’t know and seeks to know to do so via the University of Ghana.

‘Those who don’t know must take lessons in Diplomacy. Legon Centre for International Affairs and the Centre for European Studies at the University of Ghana are the places to go for knowledge on this matter’. He advised

The IEA fellow wondered why people would allow Hassan Ayariga who is ignorant about the position to be the one belittling it? He said it is regrettable to reduce such a highly reputed post to a mere errand boy.

‘Very “educated” people taking tutorials from Hassan Ayariga who has ignorantly described the position as that of an errand boy is certainly regrettable’. He noted
